Jan Reichle

Growing up in the cultural melting pot of Hong Kong, Jan quickly developed an obsession with filmmaking. At age 21, he completed the post-graduate diploma course at the VCA School of Film & Television. His VCA documentary films have screened internationally and been awarded prizes at Australian short film festivals.

Returning to Queensland, he formed Blizzard Media with two uni mates and under the Blizzard Media brand spent five valuable years developing his craft directing and shooting a wide range of TV commercials and corporate projects. His work has consistently picked up awards at the QLD ACS Awards and in 2005 he was a finalist for young cinematographer of the year at the Kodak Gongs Awards.

The Year 2007 marked a move to Brisbane and being represented by the long established Roly Poly Picture Company, working under the tutelage of Ron Johanson ACS.

Jan thrives on the intense collaboration of commercials and likes to kick concepts into a higher gear that expected. Obsessed with the 30sec format, he aspires to make beautiful ads people remember.

Of late Jan has been working freelance, reigniting his passion for drama & music video projects. The year 2009 commenced with Jan shooting JUCY, his first feature as cinematographer, quickly followed by a working trip around the world for Murdoch University.
